Disclaimer and Risk Notice
1. Product boundary
CipherTransLocal is a LAN device-discovery and content-transfer tool. It is not an internet messenger, cloud drive, remote desktop, system backup, disaster-recovery, archival-storage, or security-audit product. Both devices must be on the same mutually reachable LAN.
Unactivated devices can discover devices and inspect network state but cannot send or receive text or files. First activation, device management, and updates require internet access. LAN transfer can continue offline after activation but still depends on the devices, network, and valid license state.
2. Trusted networks and device verification
Use the product only on a home, personal, or controlled LAN you trust. Open Wi-Fi, guest networks, dormitories, offices, and shared networks can expose you to unknown devices, traffic monitoring, client isolation, malicious broadcasts, or selection of the wrong receiver.
Verify device name, platform, and local address before sending and verify the sender before accepting. Discovery exposes necessary device and network information to compatible clients on the LAN. Do not place sensitive information in a device name.
3. No promise of absolute security or verified end-to-end encryption
The product promise is limited to transfer content not being uploaded to CipherTransLocal or licensing servers. Public materials do not describe the current product as zero-risk, absolutely secure, or an independently verified end-to-end encrypted communications system.
A direct LAN route removes a CipherTransLocal content server from the path but cannot remove malicious routers, compromised devices, system vulnerabilities, incorrect permissions, screen previews, clipboard sync, shared destination folders, or third-party software. Combine highly sensitive transfers with trusted networks, device encryption, and access controls.
4. Speed, stability, and completion time
Speeds and progress shown in product demonstrations illustrate interface state and are not a performance guarantee. Actual throughput depends on the router, Wi-Fi band and signal, Ethernet, device storage, file system, CPU, battery policy, background restrictions, and current LAN load.
Large transfers may fail because of network changes, sleep, insufficient storage, revoked permissions, a stopped foreground service, or operating-system cleanup. Leave sufficient space and verify size, readability, and a hash where appropriate after an important transfer.
5. File integrity, backups, and deletion
CipherTransLocal should not hold the only copy of an important file. Keep the source until the received file is verified. Use an independent backup for critical archives, work output, identity documents, and irreplaceable content.
Cancellation, failure, system interruption, or disk error may leave temporary files, incomplete files, or local history. Inspect the destination and free space. Do not delete the only original solely because the interface displayed a completed state.
6. Malware and untrusted content
The software transfers files and does not determine whether every file is safe, lawful, or suitable to open. APKs, EXEs, scripts, macros, archives, and other files can contain malicious code. Accept only trusted content, keep system protection enabled, and inspect files before opening or installing them.
Receipt through CipherTransLocal is not review, approval, or a guarantee by the operator. You are responsible for content you send, receive, store, open, or execute.
7. Destination folders, permissions, and other cloud sync
A receiving device may save files to Downloads, Gallery, app cache, or another selected location. Folder permissions, other local users, media indexing, backup tools, and third-party sync can make the file visible elsewhere.
Before moving private content, review gallery sync, OneDrive, Google Photos, device-vendor cloud storage, folder sync, and clipboard sync. CipherTransLocal cannot control these third-party settings.
8. Unsigned Windows release and SmartScreen
The first Windows installer and portable package do not yet have paid Authenticode signing. Windows SmartScreen or security software may show an unknown-publisher or reputation warning. The warning is not proof that the file is malicious and is not a reason to ignore security checks.
Download only from ciphertrans.com, compare the filename and published SHA-256, and scan with system security tools. Do not disable Defender, SmartScreen, the firewall, or another protection globally to install this product.
9. Android APK and sideloading
The website provides an Android APK signed with a fixed release keystore. Android may ask the browser or file manager for permission to install from that source. Grant it only to a trusted source and turn it off afterward if desired.
Do not install repackaged copies from third-party download sites, chat attachments, or unknown QR codes. Android version, vendor policy, Play Protect, permissions, and CPU architecture can affect installation and background execution. The current minimum is Android 7.0 / API 24.
10. System compatibility and updates
The current Windows release scope is Windows 10/11 on x86-64 Intel or AMD. It does not claim Windows 32-bit or ARM support. Android support is defined by the download page and release APK. Virtual machines, compatibility layers, stripped systems, enterprise policy, and future OS changes may behave differently.
Changes to operating systems, browsers, Creem, router firmware, and security policy may require an update. Old versions are not guaranteed to remain compatible forever, and every device combination is not guaranteed to discover automatically.
11. Online services and third-party dependencies
Accounts, first activation, device management, update downloads, and future Creem Checkout depend on internet access, DNS, servers, databases, and third-party payment infrastructure. Maintenance, network failure, attack, compliance action, or force majeure can make them temporarily unavailable.
Creem is responsible for its payment, invoice, tax, and payment-administration functions. CipherTransLocal is responsible for product delivery and support. Banks, issuers, Creem, operating systems, app stores, and third-party websites are not fully controlled by CipherTransLocal.
12. Not for safety-critical use or sole-record retention
Do not use CipherTransLocal as the sole transfer or storage method for medical, emergency, life-safety, industrial-control, evidence-preservation, regulated-archive, or another situation where failure could cause major harm.
Website and software information is not legal, tax, medical, cybersecurity, or other professional advice. Consult a qualified professional when a decision requires it.
13. Liability boundary and consumer rights
To the extent permitted by law, losses caused by untrusted networks, wrong-device selection, malicious files, insufficient storage, third-party cloud sync, operating-system permissions, failure to keep a backup, unverified installers, or third-party services remain with the party controlling that risk.
This disclaimer does not exclude intentional non-performance, gross negligence, personal injury, fraud, or liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded, and it does not reduce non-waivable consumer rights. Read the Terms for payment, refund, and licensing rules.
14. Updates and feedback
This risk notice changes as implementation, system support, and payment flows change. Before use, review the download page for the current version, system requirements, SHA-256, and latest date.
Public repository issues may be used for non-sensitive technical matters. Send account, order, payment, refund, privacy, and after-sale questions to support@ciphertrans.com. Do not send passwords, recovery codes, full activation keys, card details, or complete payment credentials.
