Terms of Service and Software License
1. Acceptance and scope
By accessing the website, creating an account, downloading, installing, activating, or using CipherTransLocal, you agree to these terms, the Privacy Policy, the Disclaimer, and the order and product information shown before checkout. If you do not agree, do not purchase, activate, or continue using the product.
These are product-specific CipherTransLocal terms. When you pay through Creem, the Buyer Terms shown in Creem checkout also govern payment, invoices, tax, and the transaction relationship. Mandatory consumer rights are not excluded.
2. Roles of CipherTransLocal and Creem
The CipherTransLocal operator is responsible for product descriptions, downloads, delivery, license issuance, device management, technical support, product functionality, refund eligibility decisions, and after-sale support. Creem does not develop, test, host, or maintain CipherTransLocal and is not the product-support provider for its features or transfers.
Creem (Armitage Labs OÜ) acts as Merchant of Record and contractual reseller. It enters the buyer transaction in its own name and handles payment collection, processing, invoices, sales tax/VAT/GST, fraud prevention, and the payment administration of refunds and chargebacks. You will be told before payment that Creem processes the transaction.
3. Eligibility, account, and recovery code
You must have legal capacity to accept these terms. If you act for an organization, you must be authorized to bind it. Registration and order information must be accurate, and you may not impersonate another person, resell a personal account, or evade device limits.
Accounts use a username, password, and one-time recovery code. You are responsible for protecting them, securing signed-in devices, and reporting unauthorized use. There is currently no email or SMS recovery. Losing both the password and recovery code may make the account unrecoverable.
Checkout must be created from a signed-in account. Before redirecting to Creem, the server binds a request_id to that account. A success page, URL parameter, payment email, or screenshot does not by itself establish order ownership or paid status.
4. Product purpose and activation boundary
CipherTransLocal discovers Windows and Android devices and transfers text and files on the same reachable LAN. It is not an internet messenger, cloud drive, remote-control service, hosted backup, or secure-storage service.
Unactivated devices can participate in LAN discovery and health checks but cannot send or receive text, images, or files. First activation requires the licensing service. After activation, a valid device can keep transferring on the LAN offline, while account management, device removal, refund-state synchronization, and update downloads still use the internet.
5. Software license and device allowance
Subject to paid status, a valid entitlement, and compliance with these terms, you receive a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable software license. The default personal entitlement permits up to five active Windows or Android devices sharing one allowance unless the order page expressly states otherwise.
Old devices can be removed in the account center. You may not sell, rent, share, publish, or mass-distribute accounts, recovery codes, activation keys, device tokens, or activated copies, or evade limits by cloning installation identity, modifying clients, or another workaround.
Except where applicable law expressly permits an act that cannot be excluded by contract, you may not copy source code, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, bypass licensing, remove notices, create derivative works, or redistribute the software as a standalone product. Third-party components remain under their own licenses.
6. Acceptable use and prohibited conduct
Use the software only for lawful content, devices, and networks you are authorized to access. Do not use it to distribute malware, infringing or unlawful material, gain unauthorized device access, evade security controls, interfere with services, commit fraud, evade sanctions, launder funds, or conduct another illegal activity.
Do not abuse the licensing API, website, or Creem Checkout through denial of service, credential stuffing, exploit attempts, or forged webhooks, orders, refunds, or payment states. Creem or CipherTransLocal may screen and reject or suspend transactions and services involving fraud, prohibited products, restricted territories, or compliance risk.
7. Price, payment, tax, and invoices
The CipherTransLocal lifetime personal edition has a base price of US$9.90 in USD as a one-time payment with no automatic renewal. It includes Windows and Android access with five active devices by default. Creem Checkout will show whether applicable tax is included or added and the final total before you confirm.
Creem collects payment and issues invoices or payment documents in its own name for transactions processed through it. Creem calculates, collects, and remits applicable sales tax, VAT, or GST based on billing information and applicable rules. CipherTransLocal will not separately charge the same transaction. Your bank, issuer, or currency provider may impose its own cross-border or conversion fees.
An entitlement is created only after a Creem-signed webhook is verified, the expected amount and currency match, and the event is processed idempotently. A browser success screen, card authorization, screenshot, or redirect does not replace server confirmation.
8. Digital delivery and activation keys
After payment confirmation, the entitlement is attached to the account that created checkout, and the full activation key appears in that account center. Activation keys are not currently delivered by email or SMS. Confirm that you can sign in and have saved the recovery code before paying.
If payment succeeds but the entitlement does not appear within a reasonable time, contact support@ciphertrans.com and provide the Creem order identifier and username. Do not send a full activation key, recovery code, payment credential, or identity document.
9. Refunds, withdrawal rights, and duplicate payments
The CipherTransLocal operator determines refund eligibility under the product description, these terms, the refund information shown before checkout, and applicable consumer law. Creem processes an approved refund within its payment system. We will not ask you to accept an off-platform transfer or issue a second refund outside Creem for the same transaction.
Reviewable situations include duplicate charges, paid orders that never receive an entitlement, a reproducible material defect in a declared compatible environment that support cannot remedy, and refunds or withdrawal rights required by law. To the extent allowed by law, refunds are not guaranteed for failure to read system requirements, use on an unsupported platform, guest or isolated networks blocking discovery, insufficient destination storage, lost recovery credentials, activation-key sharing, or a simple change of mind.
Digital software may be delivered immediately after payment. Where applicable law permits, Creem Checkout may ask you to expressly request immediate performance and acknowledge how that affects a statutory withdrawal right. Checkout consent and mandatory local consumer rules take priority. Creem may also refund without prior operator instruction when required by law or because of fraud, unauthorized payment, or a dispute.
After a refund, the order, entitlement, and activation key may be marked refunded or revoked, preventing new device activations, update downloads, and account benefits. A refunded license terminates even if an offline device cannot immediately synchronize the state.
10. Chargebacks, payment disputes, and fraud
If you do not recognize a transaction, believe you were charged twice, or did not receive a license, contact support@ciphertrans.com first so the order can be checked and a refund considered. This does not remove any statutory right to contact your issuer or payment provider.
Creem exclusively administers chargebacks for transactions it processes and may ask CipherTransLocal for delivery, account, licensing, or support evidence. An entitlement may be suspended while a chargeback, suspected fraud, or payment dispute is investigated and may terminate if the dispute succeeds or the transaction is reversed. You may not retain both a refund and the refunded license.
11. “Lifetime,” updates, and product lifecycle
If a product is described as Personal Lifetime or similar, it means a one-time payment rather than an automatically renewing subscription and continuing use of versions delivered within the order scope while the entitlement remains valid. It does not mean the natural lifetime of the buyer or promise that the business, license server, downloads, operating-system compatibility, support, or every future major version will exist indefinitely.
The precise update scope must be stated on the product and order page before payment. Unless an order expressly says otherwise, do not assume that every future major release, additional platform, enterprise feature, or new service is included at no charge. Offline use of an activated version remains subject to these terms, the device and system environment, and the license not ending because of refund, fraud, or material breach.
12. Availability, changes, and support
We take reasonable steps to maintain the website, accounts, and licensing service but do not promise uninterrupted online availability. Maintenance, network faults, attacks, third-party payment services, regulatory action, or force majeure may cause downtime. Offline LAN transfer does not need continuous sign-in, but first activation and device management depend on servers.
Features may be updated, replaced, or discontinued for fixes, security, compatibility, or compliance. Material changes will be described where reasonably possible. Support scope, response method, and available channels are those published on the website or account center at the relevant time.
13. Intellectual property and feedback
CipherTransLocal, the website, brand, interface, documentation, and proprietary source code belong to their respective rights holders. Purchase grants only the use license expressly described in these terms and does not transfer copyright, trademark, patent, trade-secret, or other intellectual-property rights.
You must have the right to submit feedback. Unless separately agreed in writing, you permit us to use feedback without charge to improve the product, but this does not transfer ownership of an independent work or secret contained in the feedback. Do not submit confidential material through a public channel.
14. Suspension and termination
Accounts, entitlements, devices, or online services may be suspended for fraud, chargeback, refund, unlawful use, activation-key sharing or sale, device-limit evasion, service attacks, third-party-rights violations, or another material breach. Where law permits and the risk is not urgent, an explanation or review route will be provided.
When a license ends, you must stop using paid functionality and remove copies you are no longer entitled to use where required. Termination does not affect accrued payment, tax, refund, audit, confidentiality, intellectual-property, and liability provisions.
15. Warranties, liability, and mandatory consumer rights
The software operates in the environment in which it is provided. Discovery, speed, compatibility, and availability depend on devices, routers, Wi-Fi, storage, operating-system permissions, and third-party services. Except for an express order warranty or a mandatory legal requirement, there is no promise of uninterrupted, error-free, fit-for-a-particular-purpose, absolutely secure, or fixed-speed operation.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the CipherTransLocal operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, lost-profit, lost-data, lost-opportunity, third-party-sync, or untrusted-file damages. No limitation applies to intentional non-performance, gross negligence, personal injury, fraud, or another liability that applicable law does not allow to be limited.
These terms do not remove non-waivable rights in the consumer’s place of residence. Payment, invoice, and tax disputes may also be governed by Creem Buyer Terms. Contact support@ciphertrans.com for product delivery, function, and support issues.
16. Changes, disputes, and contact routes
These terms may be updated for product, Creem-process, legal, or security changes. Material changes update the page date and will be signalled on the website, account center, or app. A materially adverse change will not retroactively remove an expressly granted paid right unless law requires it.
Product disputes can first be discussed through support@ciphertrans.com. Payment, invoice, tax, and payment disputes may be handled by Creem under the Buyer Terms shown at checkout. Applicable law and jurisdiction depend on the transaction, verified supplier identity, consumer location, and mandatory rules; these terms do not artificially exclude mandatory consumer jurisdiction.
