Android to Windows file transfer

Move files from your Android phone straight back to Windows.

Original photos, screen recordings, downloads, and work documents often only need to reach the PC beside you. CipherTransLocal lets Android choose Windows and send directly.

THE FRICTION

The slowest part of phone-to-PC transfer is often the stop in the middle.

Cloud drives, chat apps, and USB cables can all work, but each adds waiting, compression, account setup, or connection friction.

  • 01Cloud upload and download send the same bytes across the internet twice
  • 02Chat apps may compress images or limit file size
  • 03USB requires a cable, transfer mode, and folder navigation
  • 04Temporary web tools may upload files to another provider

The route

Start on Android, receive on Windows, and see the entire transfer.

  3. 3

Why this feels simpler

Remove steps from a route you use all the time.

ORIGINAL

Send files without chat-window recompression

Photos, video, and documents move as the files you selected.

TWO-WAY

Send the result back from Windows

The same conversation can return notes, edited output, and other files.

VISIBLE

Large transfers show progress and controls

Pause or cancel instead of waiting on a share sheet with no useful state.

How to start

Complete the send from Android without returning to the PC to upload.

Confirm both apps are activated and share one reachable local network, then start from the phone.

  1. 01

Choose the Windows device on Android

When the PC is online, its device name and local state appear in the list.

  2. 02

    Open the system file picker

Choose gallery originals, recordings, downloads, documents, or other files.

  3. 03

    Confirm and start the transfer

Both phone and PC show state, percentage, and the final result.

  4. 04

Find the file in the Windows save location

After reception, organize, move, or back it up under your own PC settings.

Privacy and security boundary

The file leaves the phone without first entering a CipherTransLocal cloud.

The licensing service does not receive your photos, video, or documents. Received files stay on Windows. If that folder uses OneDrive or another sync tool, its own settings determine any later upload.

  • Only files explicitly selected in the system picker are sent
  • File-picker permission is not used to scan all phone storage
  • Verify the PC name and use a trusted network before sending

FAQ

Android to Windows transfer questions

Can it send original photos from the phone gallery?

Yes. Select originals in the Android system picker and send them as files without first placing them in a chat app.

Can it send large video and archives?

Yes. Completion depends on PC capacity, LAN stability, and storage performance on both devices.

Can the Windows PC use Ethernet?

Yes. Windows may use Ethernet while Android uses Wi-Fi as long as both devices can reach each other on the same LAN.

Can an unactivated device transfer files?

It can discover nearby devices, but sending and receiving content requires a valid trial or lifetime license.

Do both devices need to use the same Wi-Fi?

They need to share one reachable local network. The PC can use Ethernet while the phone uses Wi-Fi if the networks still allow device-to-device access.

Does LAN file transfer require internet access?

First activation, account management, and updates use the internet. Actual text and file transfer happens on the reachable LAN and does not require a constant internet connection.

Why are devices missing even on the same Wi-Fi?

Guest mode, AP or client isolation, Windows Firewall, VPNs, virtual adapters, and Android background limits can block device discovery.

Can I transfer a file that is tens of gigabytes?

Large files are supported, but completion depends on receiver capacity, file system, Wi-Fi stability, and storage performance.

Will a received file be uploaded to cloud storage?

CipherTransLocal does not upload content to its licensing server. If the receiving folder is covered by OneDrive, Gallery, or another sync tool, its settings decide whether it uploads.

Does the free trial require a payment method?

No. The current three-day trial needs no payment method and no lifetime activation key.
