Send links and text between devices

A copied link should not need a message-to-yourself detour.

A link, command, or address only needs to move from one screen to another. Local text transfer removes the login, search, and message-yourself steps.

THE FRICTION

Short content deserves a short route too.

A temporary note can pick up chat history, previews, formatting, and another account along the way.

  • 01Open chat and sign in on the other device
  • 02Find your own account or conversation
  • 03A long URL gains a preview or line break
  • 04Commands and notes remain in chat history

The route

Find the friction first, then choose the shorter route.

Common routeLONGER PATH
  1. 1

    Reinstall repeatedly

  2. 2

    Switch networks at random

  3. 3

    Upload the file elsewhere

  4. 4

    Check permissions last

Without finding the cause, more retries only add waiting.
Local routeSHORTER PATH
  1. 1

    Verify device and network

  2. 2

    Check the system conditions

  3. 3

    Discover the target again

  4. 4

The license service handles access; content stays on the LAN.

Why this feels simpler

Connect copy and send in one handoff.

01

Skip retyping links

Copy an address on Windows and send it to Android, or send back to Windows.

02

Keep command text intact

Multiline text and configuration snippets remain available for review on the receiver.

03

Use one conversation for text and files

Send context first, then the matching photo, document, or archive.

How to start

Send one piece of text between your devices.

Review sensitive content before sending and copy it into the destination app only after reception.

  1. 01

    Choose the online device

Open both apps and choose a destination device you control.

  2. 02

    Paste the link or text

Paste an address, command, phone number, or temporary note.

  3. 03

    Review and send

Check for passwords, tokens, or fragments that should not be shared.

  4. 04

Check and copy on the receiver

Review whitespace and line breaks before copying into a browser, terminal, or map.

Privacy and security boundary

This is local text transfer, not an internet chat service.

Messages are not uploaded to the CipherTransLocal licensing server, but both devices must share a reachable LAN. Review sensitive text before sending.

  • Do not send passwords or tokens to an uncertain device
  • Review commands before running them
  • First activation and device management still use the internet

FAQ

PC and phone text-transfer questions

Can it send long URLs?

Yes. Check whitespace and line breaks after reception, especially for commands, configuration, and parameterized URLs.

Does it replace internet chat?

No. It is for direct text handoffs between nearby devices, not cross-internet messaging.

Does the text enter cloud history?

It is not uploaded to the CipherTransLocal licensing server. Other apps on the receiving device may retain it under their own settings.

Can an unactivated device send text?

It can discover devices, but sending and receiving content requires a valid trial or lifetime license.

Do both devices need to use the same Wi-Fi?

They need to share one reachable local network. The PC can use Ethernet while the phone uses Wi-Fi if the networks still allow device-to-device access.

Does LAN file transfer require internet access?

First activation, account management, and updates use the internet. Actual text and file transfer happens on the reachable LAN and does not require a constant internet connection.

Why are devices missing even on the same Wi-Fi?

Guest mode, AP or client isolation, Windows Firewall, VPNs, virtual adapters, and Android background limits can block device discovery.

Can I transfer a file that is tens of gigabytes?

Large files are supported, but completion depends on receiver capacity, file system, Wi-Fi stability, and storage performance.

Will a received file be uploaded to cloud storage?

CipherTransLocal does not upload content to its licensing server. If the receiving folder is covered by OneDrive, Gallery, or another sync tool, its settings decide whether it uploads.

Does the free trial require a payment method?

No. The current three-day trial needs no payment method and no lifetime activation key.

Next time you copy a link, put it straight on the other screen.
