Large files and long video

Move a full movie straight from your PC to your phone.

With a movie, screen recording, or footage archive that runs into tens of gigabytes, the slow part is often the cloud round trip: upload it once, then download it again. If both devices are on the same LAN, the file can take the shorter path.

WHY

Why a public upload is awkward for this job

  1. 01

The same bytes cross the internet twice, once up and once down.

  2. 02

Cloud capacity, single-file limits, or account throttling may appear only after the transfer has started.

  3. 03

Long video and original footage should not need compression or splitting just to reach a nearby device.

The practical answer

Use the LAN as the direct route between devices

CipherTransLocal discovers Windows and Android on the local network. After you choose the destination, the sender transfers the file directly to the receiver. The account and licensing service never receives the movie and does not keep a cloud copy.

What to do

Send a large movie from Windows to Android

  1. 01

    Join one reachable local network

Windows can use Ethernet or Wi-Fi while Android uses Wi-Fi. Guest networks and AP isolation can prevent devices from seeing each other.

  2. 02

Choose the Android device on Windows

Open both activated apps, wait for the phone to show as online, and enter the device conversation.

  3. 03

Select the movie, long video, or footage file

Send the original file without splitting it. The transfer card shows its name, live speed, percentage, and transferred size.

  4. 04

    Pause or cancel when needed

Pause during temporary congestion, or cancel if the destination is running out of space instead of continuing a transfer that cannot finish.

0CONTENT UPLOADS

Content boundary

The movie is never uploaded to CipherTransLocal servers

Content moves only between reachable devices on the current LAN. The server handles accounts, activation, and device allowance; it does not receive movies, video, or footage.

Checks before and after

Make a large transfer more reliable

01

Prefer 5 GHz or faster Wi-Fi

Keep both devices near the router and avoid competing high-bandwidth downloads when possible.

02

Check phone storage first

Leave more free space than the file size so the system can finish writing and indexing the media.

03

Ethernet on the PC can help

A wired Windows connection and Wi-Fi phone often reduce competition between two wireless senders.

04

Speed comes from your local setup

Router performance, signal, storage, and LAN congestion determine throughput. The product does not promise a fixed speed.

FAQ

Large movie and video transfer questions

Does transferring a movie require internet access?

The file transfer does not, but Windows and Android must be on the same reachable LAN. First activation and app updates still require internet access.

Is the video uploaded to cloud storage or a CipherTransLocal server?

No. CipherTransLocal does not provide content cloud storage, and the licensing server does not receive transferred files.

Can I send a single file that is tens of gigabytes?

Large files are supported, but completion depends on destination capacity, its file system, Wi-Fi stability, and device storage performance.

Why is my real speed lower than the product demo?

The demo illustrates interface state. Real throughput depends on the router, radio band, signal, storage, and current network load.

Skip the cloud wait and use the network already in the room.

Download the Windows and Android apps, then place both devices on the same trusted local network.
